Mark Lawrenson believes Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper Alisson Becker will leave the club this summer.

Although he recently showed his best form again by saving the team to win back from France who beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16, Lawrenson believes Alisson will leave the team at the end of this season.

“I feel like the reason Liverpool signed Georgi Mamardashvili was because Alisson was going to leave in the summer,” Lawrenson told Paddy Power.

“I feel like he wants to leave, which would leave Klavin Kelleher and Mamardashvili fighting for the No.1 spot.”

“Alisson is 32 now so I think he’s looking for that last big splurge before he retires. Every team in the world wants Alisson so if Liverpool can get a big splurge on him then it’s good for everyone.”
